I am sure you may have seen the sensational letter of resignation by Ms Bunmi Ajagbe. However it was a misrepresentation of facts. She was actually asked to step down from the Electoral Committee in March 2024, after the provisional List of Eligible Voters was published and a member wrote a petition to the Transition Committee protesting her nomination for the position. She claimed she had paid her annual dues in advance and would produce evidence after consultation with her set ambassador. When she couldn’t produce any evidence she was asked to resign.
Ms Abimbola Omowunmi Tiamiyu who is from her base was nominated to take up the vacant position but she declined the offer in writing on personal grounds on the 22nd of March, 2024.
Mr. Orofin Adeniyi of 1983 set was Immediately nominated on the 22nd of March and promptly accepted the offer on the 23rd of March, 2024 and has since resumed work with the other members of the Electoral Committee.
