Distinguished members of FEGOCOOSA,
It is with immense gratitude and a profound sense of duty that I present this comprehensive report, encapsulating the strides and accomplishments of our association under the current administration. Our collective efforts have significantly advanced our mission to foster unity, support our alma mater, and enhance the welfare of our members.
2. Executive Summary
In our inaugural year, FEGOCOOSA embarked on a transformative journey to strengthen alumni engagement, support member development, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of Federal Government College Ogbomoso. This report outlines the strategic initiatives and accomplishments achieved under the themes of integration, empowerment, and sustainability.
3. Aggressive Membership Mobilization Drive
Phase 1: Structured Integration & Mentorship
- Institutional Chapter Integration through the Eminents Class:
- Facilitated the integration of new graduates into FEGOCOOSA Institutional Chapters across various regions.
- Assigned dedicated Chapter Mentorship Coordinators to onboard and monitor new members.
- Conducted orientation sessions in partner institutions, supported by regional alumni.
- Mentorship Program Setup:
- Matched each graduate with an alumni mentor from their respective field or region.
- Incorporated peer mentors from institutional chapters.
- Distributed monthly mentorship guides focusing on topics such as campus adaptation, goal setting, and career planning.
- Leveraged group mentorship and virtual platforms to extend reach and accessibility.
- Progress Monitoring:
- Implemented digital tools to monitor mentees’ academic, social, and personal development.
- Designated chapter representatives conducted monthly check-ins.
- Established a structured feedback mechanism for continuous improvement.
Phase 2: Career & Entrepreneurship Development
- Needs Assessment:
- Conducted comprehensive assessments to understand members’ career aspirations, skill gaps, and support needs.
- Entrepreneurship Support:
- Organized entrepreneurship bootcamps and innovation labs.
- Offered guidance on start-up funding, mentorship from business leaders, and access to innovation hubs.
- Connected participants with government programs (e.g., NDE, SMEDAN) and donor agencies.
- Career Counseling & Job Readiness:
- Hosted CV clinics, application assistance workshops, and job search strategy sessions.
- Provided training in interview techniques, communication, and other essential soft skills.
- Facilitated opportunities for internships and volunteer work.
- Alumni Businesses:
- Promoted alumni-owned businesses and fostered partnerships with industry groups.
Phase 3: Continuous Engagement & Impact Monitoring
- Alumni Engagement & Volunteerism:
- Encouraged alumni involvement in chapter activities, committees, and national/global events.
- Implemented awards and spotlight features to honor dedicated alumni volunteers and leaders.
- Partnerships & Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Built active partnerships with employers, NGOs, government agencies, university career centers, and international organizations.
- Evaluation & Impact Assessment:
- Established a robust Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework to track outcomes such as employment rates, business creation, and academic performance.
- Committed to annual reporting on progress and impact, incorporating qualitative feedback from stakeholders.

Understanding that the strength of our association lies in the well-being of its members, we prioritized initiatives that support personal and professional growth:

- Hosted webinars and workshops on topics ranging from career advancement to financial literacy.
- Mentorship Schemes:
- Paired younger alumni with seasoned professionals for guidance and support.
Annual Welfare Campaign Fund
- Objectives:
- Encourage annual donations from alumni, emphasizing the collective impact of contributions.
- Foster a culture of giving and pride in supporting FEGOCOOSA Welfare.
- Channel funds towards specific projects, scholarships, and infrastructural developments.
- Campaign Highlights:
- Aimed to raise ₦10 million by December 31, 2025; already realized ₦2.5 million.
- Utilized personalized outreach, compelling narratives, and digital platforms to engage alumni.
- Implemented donor acknowledgment tiers and provided incentives to encourage participation.
- Organized welfare fundraising events, including webinars and reunions, to foster community and raise funds.
5. Celebrating Landmark Birthdays and Life Events
In our commitment to building a close-knit community, we have made it a priority to celebrate significant milestones in our members’ lives:
- Landmark Birthdays:
- Recognized members who have reached notable age milestones with personalized messages and, where possible, celebratory events.
- Weddings and Family Celebrations:
- Extended congratulations and support to members during family milestones, including the weddings of their children.
- Transitions:
- Honored the memories of departed members through tributes and support to their families.
6. Continued Support for Our Alma Mater
Our dedication to the development of Federal Government College Ogbomoso remains unwavering. Key initiatives include:
- Interhouse Sports Project:
- Collaborated with various alumni sets to renovate and equip laboratories, classrooms, and other essential facilities.
- Graduation, Speech, and Prize Giving Day:
- Provided financial assistance to deserving students to encourage academic excellence.
7. Thorough Needs Assessment and Inspection of Alma Mater’s Facilities
To ensure our interventions are impactful, we conducted comprehensive assessments of the school’s needs:
- Facility Inspections:
- Paid three regular visits to evaluate the state of infrastructure and identify areas requiring urgent attention.
- Stakeholder Engagements:
- Held meetings with school administrators, teachers, and students to gather insights and feedback.
- Prioritization of Projects:
- Used collected data to prioritize projects that align with the school’s most pressing needs.
8. Association Website Upgrade
In our bid to enhance communication and engagement, we undertook a significant upgrade of our association’s website:
- User-Friendly Interface:
- Redesigned the site for easier navigation and accessibility.
- Member Portal:
- Introduced features that allow members to update their profiles, pay dues, and register for events.
- Resource Hub:
- Provided access to newsletters, reports, and other relevant documents.
9. Participation in USOSA Activities
Our association has been actively involved in the activities of the Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA):
- USOSA Sports Carnivals:
- Celebrated our achievements as 2024 winners and 2025 first runners-up in various categories, showcasing our commitment to excellence and camaraderie.
- Conferences and Workshops:
- Participated in national events that discuss educational policies and alumni engagement strategies.
